The History of Honey Pond

SnowBridge.jpg

On a snowy Vermont winter day in 1997, Gary Kanew and Dan Gaydos

took a snowmobile up to a hilltop overlooking a snow filled hay field.

Inspired by the beauty and potential of the natural setting

they conceived the original concept and course design.

From this simple pencil sketch seen below

the Honey Pond Golf Course came to life.

In 1998, ground was broken as a hay field was transformed

into 2 Greens surrounded by 10 Tees.

This is represented below by the first scorecard.

In the summer of 2,000 we built a 3rd Green
which has gained a reputation worthy of the designation "Diabolical".
We also added a number of new tees creating a triangulated configuration.

Continuing the evolution of the course over the last 20 years,
Gary Kanew and his course Superintendent teamed up
to create several distinctive and intriguing
which have transformed Honey Pond
into an entertaining and challenging 18 hole USGA Rated Course
with a totally unique design and routing.
